Give your recipients the Vigil ID — by text, call, or letter. Share your passphrase in person or physically. Vigil never holds it.

Every access request triggers an alert to you and starts a non-negotiable 24-hour countdown. You can cancel at any point.

Opens when it should

Only when every recipient has requested access and all timers have completed does the document unseal.

Your document is encrypted before it leaves your device. We store only the locked version — mathematically unreadable without a passphrase we never see. Even if our servers were breached tomorrow, your words would remain private. And if we ever shut down, we'll return your encrypted document 90 days before we close.
